Write for us
Clear Screen Stories welcomes considered pitches about screens in rural settings, shared viewing, community media and the ways screen stories shape a sense of place.
What makes a good pitch
Bring one clear subject and a fresh question. Tell us what a reader will understand or notice by the end, why the subject suits this almanac, and what material or sources you would use. A narrow, well-framed idea is more useful than a broad tour of everything screens can do.
The voice we seek
We look for careful, accessible writing with concrete detail and room for different experiences. Pitches may explain a form, compare viewing settings, trace a screen custom or consider how rural places appear on screen. Avoid unsupported generalisations, promotional copy and advice that depends on local rules or specialist expertise.
Send a proposal
Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include a short outline, an estimated length and a few words about your approach. Please send a pitch rather than a finished article unless we have agreed otherwise.
A screen belongs to its setting
A screen is never quite alone: the room, the company and the rhythms of a place all affect what it means to watch.
